Meet The Team
Ascension Lift Solutions is a family run business with different experiences to make a great team. All the family members play an important role in the running of the business from expert Industry knowledge, Accounts, IT and Social Media. Haley is a qualified AAT accountant and has further qualifications in business. Rhys is currently studying media and business whilst Kieran is at university completing a degree course in games and computer design. Mark Harding is the founder of the business and you can read about Marks story below.
Mark started working in engineering in 1992 after leaving school. He worked for a small engineering company called Hammond engineering, (changed to Blackmer Mouvex), building hydraulic coolers and air compressors. After the relocation of the business in 1999 Mark found a position as a lift improver at the UK Lift Company working alongside a lift fitter. Mark soon gained his NVQ3 qualification in lift maintenance and engineering and went on to complete the technician/testing of lifts modules UC401, 402 and 405, which later become the NVQ4. In 2008 Mark joined Abbey Liftcare as a technician and tester and completed many lift commissioning tests, which included lifts in major Hospitals and the Docklands Light Railway prior to the London Olympics in 2012. In late 2012 Mark moved into the Abbey Liftcare office and took the position as repair manager which involved managing the day to day repairs of lifts. This office role developed and in 2014 Mark moved into the position as operations manager at Abbey Liftcare. In May of 2016 Abbey Liftcare was acquired by Otis but continued to operate under the name of Abbey Liftcare. In June of 2017 Mark was awarded the position of Director of Abbey Liftcare after the previous owner retired from the business. Mark continued in this position and was also given the responsibility of a second business under the Otis subsidiary brand called PDERS. Mark was the director of both Abbey Liftcare and PDERS until 2022. In 2022 Mark formed Ascension Lift Solutions providing services across all aspects of lift engineering.
Over the past 25 years Mark has gained many qualifications and during his time at Otis won 4 safety awards. Some of these qualifications are listed below:

Mark has a keen interest in health and wellbeing and in recent times Mark has worked closely with health and wellbeing groups creating health and wellbeing notice boards, mental health MOT cards. Mark believes a good work environment with a well-motivated and valued workforce is the key to achieving good results.
